well another game of two contrasting halves , played in biting windy wet conditions gaer totally outplayed corries for the 1st half then were totally outplayed the second half .not a very good season so far by gaer standards big improvements needed.

well what can i say we were dreadful there is now way on this earth any team should beat us 7 - 1 ok 3 very streaky own goals off deflections and one cross that tturned into a shot that i couldnt save don't make it any easier on the eye . tom has to wake up i'm afraid and shout at his team mates a bit more but malpas deserved it AGAIN . ah well maybe next time.

wow what a game , driving rain but skill in abundance from both sides bit of poor defending in the first half let ex gaer player alex in for a great goal then poor defending once again let him in again. second half boy if this was'nt the best game ive seen us play in a l;ong while i don't know what is , a cracking goal from jake thomas (more from you j.t. you are worth a lot more )
some excellent goalkeeping from tom including an excellent 50-50 ball with alex when even i thought he would score but the game ended in defeat but no disgrace . well done to both teams a great game played in excellent spirit.

great first half then went to sleep a bit, but still ended up 7-3 winners. were 6-0 up at half time and all round great performance well done lads.

well what can i say , totally outplayed them had more shots then the whole german army in world war ii and still lost 3-2.what is happening we couldnt finish a crossword at the moment .
ok two streaky goals by them was the difference betwwen the two teams but we hammerd them every player playing great football ah well maybe next week.

winter training will take place at risca leisure center every saturday morning between the hours of 9 - 10 make sure we all turn up and on time as the coach does this for nothing so lets back him yes

well back on track or what ,best game we played all season. pinpoint passing great movement and tom reacting quickly for a change , the boys totally dominated form whistle to whistle well done to all of you

well what can i say this one was down to me,kick off arrived and only 6 players so i accepted the oppposing teams offer of a loan player and just as kick off arrived our latecomer (curtis) turned up by then i wqas not going to let the young boy down by telling him i didnt want him and to be honest he was not very good at all so in the second halfbi compounded the problem by moving into goal and that was by far my biggest mistake . to all gaer players i apologise for losing you the match because believe me on any other day we would have annhialated them . once again connor holland was outstanding as were all the other players including tom who after coming out and having a shaky 5 minutes played out of his skin . so we chalk this one down to me boys and not you .

well what can you say we were outplayed outfought and outhtought from start to finish .after going 1 - 0 down we rallied to 1 - 1 but then it was all pill.tom's feet nailed to the floor the passing across goal a nightmare one good point was connor another great display in defence and boy did he need to. ah well they are only 8 now lets move on to the next game we cant be any worse eh

gaer vs cromwell

sunday 16th september saw our first league game and alos our forst game against the side from cromwell. the away fixture was more like a home game with the game dominating from start to finish even against a strong headwind in the first half. the passing and positional play was excellent resulting in an excellent 4-1 win with goals form jake thomas x2 and ricardo rees x 2.
onwards and upwards from here on in .

what a display of good passing football but what about the shooting , you don't have to pay to shoot boys you should have won by a hatfull. but even saying that very impressive movement and passing all in all a good start to the season

pill tournament

well can you belive it , not one week after playing malpas off the park and still getting beat we did it again. playing some of the best football of the tournament all day and only conceding one goal in the process up pop malpas tyhe last game of the day and pow!! they do us again. but having said all that pnce again they did the manager fans and parents proud by never giving an inch and as for connor holland well i want what he ate for breakfast but he wqs still starving all day he ate every opposing player for breakfast all day , god he must be full.
now the season is upon us once again time to show who's the best boys , give em hell.

maesglas tournament

saturday 1st september is the maesglas tournament down maesglkas school and boy we got 7 tough games to come but i know once again we will do the gaer proud so watch this space for pics and match reports folks

well last sunday against the old foe malpas and we played them off the park but still lost?????
what went wrong it baffles me folks we played great football but some silly mistakes and pow!! they capitalised and once again our nemesis beat us , but hey we are looking good .

next tournament

news hot in off the press (for me anyway) we are invited to the maesglas tournament down at maesglas school the weekend of the august bank holiday , i think its the 26th august and according to one of the guys i work with who is involved with maesglas its a knockout tournament i.e round robin q/finals semi/finals and final mmmmmmmmmm should be interesting

gaer v trevethin

well forget the premiership the gaer have started back and what a "friendly" gaer under 9's 5 trevethin 3. after going behind 2-1 there was me thinking it's all over but once again the boys did us proud . a couple of new names to mention thomas evans and elias (sorry no last name as yet ) and they fitted in nicely , well done boys keep up the good work.
p.s for those wondering why i italliced the word friendly , was it me or was trevethins young player with the glasses trying to marry our boys or just strangle them everytime they got the ball ?

PRESENTATION NIGHT

WELL WHAT CAN I SAY, A GREAT NIGHT PUT ON BY THE GAER FOOTBALL COMMITTEE AND TO CAP IT ALL GOLDIE LOOKIN CHAIN WERE THERE TO PRESENT THE TROPHIES (AND AN ADDED BONUS DID'NT SING). CONGRATULATIONS TO RICARDO ON RECIEVING HIS PENALTY SHOOT OUT TROPHY AND WELL DONE TO EVERYBODY ELSE ON GETTING THEIRS .LIKE I SAID A GREAT NIGHT PLENTY OF LAUGHS TROPHIES BEER AND PEOPLE MAKING IDIOTS OF THEMSELVES , A TYPICAL NIGHT I MY HOUSE REALLY NOW WE MOVE ON TO OUR OWN TOURNAMENT ON THE 30TH JUNE WHERE I HAVE NO DOUBT WE EPAY EVERYONES FAITH IN US AND DO BRILLIANT AGAIN. another great day and boy i don't know about you but i am damn proud of everyone of them. two players down , no subs and scorching heat , the only team without subs and not a moan just commitment skill and endeavour , it all caught up with them in the last game and we got beat , but no disgrace they never gave in not one head dropped and they gave as good as they got and on another day with full team we all know mardy would not have got near them , well done boys prize giving time next friday night time to let our hair down and get drunk . oh you can't yoiur olny 8 never mind ill drink yours and don't forget end of the month our own tournament and lets boss it as ususal .COME ON THE GAER

wow what a game gaer lost 5-4 after being 5-1 down but instead of letting the heads drop they fought back and got within a whisker of winning .alex scored 3 what a finisher. man of the match though goes to the reserve keeper terry who with the striker bearing down on him at full speed was left with no defence the striker unleashed an unstoppable shot (unstoppable for any mortal keeper that is ) and terry in a feat of unparralelled agility dived high and to the right saving what for normal keepers like schmeicel chec sirnicek etc was a certain goal , and what praise did he get i ask , well lets just say i cooked dinner ...enough said.

presentation night

june 8th is presentation night for gaer a.f.c and is being held at whitehead sports and social club as last year. this is the time of the year when the season is over and the players get their just rewards for another hard season of training and games and also a time to thank the managers trainers etc for all the hard and unpaid work they put in with our kids so lets make it a night to remember (oh and get drunk of course) any kids reading this ignore the last remark and get to bed .

brand new site started 7th may 2007 to inform interested parties about gaer a.f.c.
bear with me i'm new to this so a little patience is needed from you and a lot of fiddling by me.
i am posted some pics of gaer under 8's from the whitehead graig tournament to get us started .
this tournament was played today and a great day was had by all especially the gaer who won all their games only conceding one goal in the process right at the end of the match on what was an exhausting day as all teams had to fill in for a non appearing team and make up the numbers.
no complaints from the kids just plenty of enthusiasm endeavour and skill.
